Eco Candle Co. is a woman-owned, green-minded business located in Downtown Appleton that creates and sells soy candles and home fragrance products. We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic people to join our team of artisans and sales people.

RETAIL LEAD

Full-time, weekday and weekend hours required. Available between the hours of 10a-6p M-F, 9a-5p Sat and 12-4p Sun. Part-time candidate may be considered if availability is a fit.

Salary: Starting $15.00+, based on availability and experience.

Timeline: early to mid-August 

Duties include: 

  • Welcome and engage with customers as they enter the store. 
  • Assess customers’ needs and recommend products.
  • Advise customers on current sales, promotions and events. 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of retail store and backstock. 
  • Answer emails and telephone calls regarding the retail store. 
  • Maintain communication with the general manager regarding store affairs. 
  • Communicate with outside organizations on behalf of the store for events. 
  • Keep track of retail inventory and submit orders with various suppliers. 
  • Check incoming retail orders for accuracy and communicate any issues/shortages/breakage with suppliers. 
  • Set merchandise shelves and displays, including seasonal front window. 
  • Stock sales floor. 
  • Fulfill retail pickup orders.
  • Help with labeling, production, and packaging of merchandise, as needed.
  • Use a POS system to process payments and returns, sign customers up for a rewards program and create gift cards. 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED. 
  • At least two years of retail or customer service experience.
  • One year of management experience preferred, but not required. 
  • Computer skills, particularly with retail management software.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment. 
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Able to lift 50lbs, and carry 25 lbs up and down stairs. 

 

ORDER FULFILLMENT

 

Part-time hours available with the possibility of full-time during the holidays for the right candidate. Daytime hours weekdays with some weekend hours required. 

 

Salary: Starting $15.00+, based on availability and experience.

 

Timeline: mid to end of August. 

 

Duties include:

 

  • Efficiently and accurately pick & pack all outgoing orders.
  • Communicate effectively with the sales desk to keep outgoing shipments on schedule.
  • Receive and check in shipments for accuracy & damage. Report discrepancies to management.
  • Keep all production and shipping areas tidy and keep shipping supply inventory in stock. 
  • Assist with production to keep products stocked for store and online orders.
  • Communicate with other staff members to get orders completed and out the door promptly. 
  • Keep track of supply inventory so products do not go out of stock.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma, or equivalent, required. 
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast paced environment. 
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable worker with excellent time management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and also a team player.
  • Able to lift 50lbs, repeatedly.
  • Able to carry 25-50 lbs up and down stairs. 

 

 

RETAIL + PACKAGING ASSISTANT

This is a fluid position where the right candidate will be cross-trained in several different positions. Part to full time hours - weekday and weekend hours required. Flexible scheduling.

Pay: based on availability and experience. 

Timeline: mid to end of August.

Duties include: 

  • Welcome and engage with customers as they enter the store.

  • Answer telephone calls regarding the retail store.  
  • Stock sales floor.

  • Learn and assist with production.
  • Assist with order fulfillment, as needed.
