Indian sandalwood has been overharvested and S. album is an endangered species. Australian sandalwood is more sustainable and also more affordable. Indian sandalwood has a dry-woody and smooth scent. Australian sandalwood smells less smooth and more smoky.
Sandalwood is quite expensive and has a very intense aroma. Aromaland offers both types of Sandalwood at 100% or at 10% diluted in jojoba carrier oil.
History: Sandalwood is one of the oldest known perfume materials. In the East, it has long been used as a sacred incense.
Specific Safety Information: Note for internal use. Dilute all essential oils properly with topical use. Some essential oils may be contraindicated with certain medical conditions. Ask your doctor if you have any questions before use.
