Potassium Cocoate is the potassium salt of coconut fatty acid derived from whole coconut oil during a process called saponification. Coconut oil creates lots of glycerin, makes big bubbly lather, and is very stable. The name saponification literally means soap making. The root word, sapo, is Latin for soap. The Italian word for soap is sapone. Soap making as an art has its origins in ancient Babylon around 2500 to 2800 BC.
Decyl glucoside is a mild non-ionic surfactant used in cosmetic formularies and in products for individuals with a sensitive skin. Many natural personal care companies use this cleanser because it is plant-derived, biodegradable, and gentle for all skin types.
